The Punjab Government has established 7 schools of Nursing with the aim of improving the health status of people of Punjab and to impart training to girls in General Nursing and Midwifery and therefore the Diploma Courses in General Nursing and Midwifery of 3 years duration have been started.
All the schools of Nursing are approved by the Punjab Government, Indian Nursing Council (INC) and Punjab Nurses Registration Council (PNRC). All the schools are affiliated with the Government Hospitals of repute located in the cities.
